Dr. Ben Martin is new pastor at Columbia United Methodist

By George Kolbenschlag

Most who attend Columbia United Methodist Church are very familiar with our newly assigned interim pastor, Dr. Ben Martin. Pastor Ben, along with his wife, Julie, have been blessing us with their exceptional musical talents for the past nine years. Ben has also preached on a number of occasions; he and Julie have led Bible studies, and Ben has served as "director" of our Sunday online services and in general stepped in and helped wherever needed. He also is Lindsey Wilson's campus chaplain, teaches classes and serves as the college's ADA coordinator*

Pastor Ben says, "Julie and I are so excited for the next chapter at Columbia UMC. We are so honored to be able to hold the position of interim pastor. Our prayer for this next year is that we, the church, will walk side by side as we pray, worship, study, fellowship, build community, love each other, love our community, and grow in the life and ministry of who God wants us to be. Please be in constant prayer for our church. God has great plans for our church and we want to make sure to align ourselves with those plans.
