Motorcycles in crash on Highway 70 in Taylor County By Larry Joe Smith Taylor County Sheriff Allen Newton reports that Ethan Boils age 21 of Campbellsville was traveling west on Liberty Road highway 70 on his Harley Davidson when when he collided with another Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Randy Mack age 55 of Knifley. The accident occurred at the new Campbellsville bypass and highway 70. Mack was airlifted to Louisville with a head injury. Last week was a busy one in Frankfort By Mike Wynn, LRC Frankfort, KY - It wasn't until 1992 that a constitutional amendment removed the lieutenant governor as head of the Kentucky Senate and made the General Assembly a fully independent branch of state government. Since then, few legislative sessions have demonstrated that independence more than the one that concluded this week in Frankfort. Lawmakers closed out the year by overriding more than two dozen gubernatorial vetoes during a final sprint toward sine die on Wednesday and Thursday. That capped off an intensive 60 days of work that began in January and resulted in new laws on nearly every prominent issue facing the commonwealth. Education, abortion, redistricting, drugs, gambling, elections, cannabis research and athletics were just a few of the topics that earned a tap from the gavel this year. Positive comments coming in for School's Theater project Feedback on the Columbian Theater reopening work that's underway is running positive from those who remember what a wonderful part of childhood it was. Some of the comments we've received on our CM Facebook page are shared below: Tim writes, "That's wonderful news. It's a great resource for Columbia. Programs there will bring people to the Square." Marilyn writes, "So glad to hear the Columbian will be revived and used by the community in the future. My sister and I spent a lot of hours there when we were young, going on Saturday afternoons/nights and Sunday matinees. The cost of a movie was 25 cents; then we had money for popcorn 10 or 15 cents and maybe a drink. This was great entertainment for a lot of kids back in the day."
