DOI approves annual Workers Comp filing Overall loss costs decrease for 14th consecutive year By Krista Locke Frankfort, KY - Yesterday, the Kentucky Department of Insurance (DOI) announced the approval of the 2019 rate filing used to develop rates for workers' compensation coverage. For the 14th consecutive year, the filing shows an overall decrease in Kentucky's loss costs. A loss cost is an average compensation for lost wages based on the level of disability, plus medical benefit payments. The loss cost is a direct component in the computation of an individual employer's workers' compensation insurance rate. ACSO: Two arrested on drug charges By Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriff's Office On Thursday, September 12, 2019, at approximately 11pmCT, K-9 Deputy Josh Durbin observed a red Dodge truck that was operated by Kyle Leishner of Columbia. He also observed a passenger in the vehicle that he believed to be 32 year old Wyatt Long also of Adair. Deputy Durbin had knowledge that both individuals had outstanding Circuit Court Warrants for their arrest in Adair and Casey Counties. Deputy Durbin initiated contact, and Kyle Leishner was taken into custody without incident. However, Long resisted his arrest. Deputy Durbin was able to gain control of Long and place him in custody without injury to either party. Long was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. LWC women's soccer and Spring Arbor play to a 1-1 draw By Christopher Coombs The No. 6-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team and No. 10 Spring Arbor (Mich.) played 110 minutes to a 1-1 draw on Thursday evening at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. The Cougars recorded a significant 25-12 advantage in shots as they put 11 of their attempts on target to the Blue Raiders eight. Spring Arbor also held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks. Lindsey Wilson got off to a quick start when they made the most of their first set piece of the match.
