LWC Football hosts Faulkner during Homecoming Weekend

A familiar foe invades Blue Raider Stadium on Saturday, September 14, 2019, as Lindsey Wilson welcomes Faulkner (Ala.) University to town during Homecoming weekend. Kickoff is set for 2:30pmCT.

Lindsey Wilson and Faulkner meet for the seventh time in the history of the series on Saturday. The Blue Raiders lead the all-time series 4-2, including 3-0 in Columbia.



The Blue Raiders come into this weekend's game undefeated after defeating Point (Ga.) 34-9. The victory over Point marks the fifth straight season Lindsey Wilson has started the season 2-0 under head coach Chris Oliver. Lindsey Wilson quarterback Cameron Dukes is coming off a strong performance, going 26-of-35 passing for 272 yards and three touchdowns which earned him Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Offensive Player of the Week. Redshirt freshman wide receiver Terrill Cole Jr. caught five passes for a team high 108 yards in only his second collegiate outing.

Faulkner makes the trip to Columbia after defeating Bluefield (Va.) 38-19 on Saturday, Aug. 31. Eagles quarterback Mason Blocker went 21-of-32 passing for 253 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Eagles defensive lineman Devin Sampson recorded four unassisted and five assisted tackles with a team high three tackles for loss.

Lindsey Wilson won the last meeting between the two programs 21-14 in Montgomery, Ala. during the 2016 season. It is the only road win for the Blue Raiders in the six-game series.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT. Prior to kickoff, Lindsey Wilson athletics will introduce the 2019 Lindsey Wilson Athletics Hall of Fame Class -- Amy Lankford (Jones), Chris Lashley, Ronyeld Shirley.
