While trying to discern its origin LWC traffic diverted my attention back to driver's safety and thus promptly forgot to capture this on my cell phone. James Phillip Edelen, 58, Taylor County, KY (1958-2016)

He had worked at Batesville Casket Company as well as doing auto body work. He enjoyed having fun with his friends and family and was known as the "Ice Cream Man" to his nieces and nephews. He was the son of the lateJames C. and Ethel E. Osborne Edelen. He leaves seven direct living descendants.

The license is the 12th ABC License issued since the county voted to end prohibition on March 22, 2016. It is the 10th license issued in the City of Columbia ABC jurisdiction.

Adair Learning Center Workforce grant application not among finalists

Work Ready Skills Advisory Committee announces 39 finalists. Adair County's application for funding from the Work Ready Skills Advisory Committee's 39 finalists, announced today, failed to make the first round cut, but several CM 7 county area applications are on the list, including those from Lindsey Wilson College (for a Louisville campus) for $549,000; Casey County Schools for $8,500,000; Green County Schools for $3,493,000; and Russell County Board of Education, for $12,291,000.00. The grant request from Adair County was for slightly over $4.5 million for a new Community Learning/Central office building. Grant applicants who did not make the finalists list today have been encouraged to re-submit applications for the next funding cycle. Proposals totaling over $192M in requests still under consideration for funding.

News from the Education & Workforce Development Cabinet

FRANKFORT, KY (23 Nov 2016) - The Work Ready Skills Advisory Committee, formed to review and select project proposals for the Commonwealth's new $100 million workforce bond program, met last Friday and narrowed the list of potential recipients of first-round funding to 39 proposals totaling more than $192 million.

Eighty-three full applications, totaling more than $455 million in requests, were under consideration last week.

Campbellsville Elementary School third-graders are studying figurative language in their reading classes. Students have recently learned all about personification, hyperboles, similes, metaphors and idioms.

To have some fun with their unit, students dressed as their favorite idioms on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Students dressed to represent idioms such as raining cats and dogs, having a chip on your shoulder, wearing your heart on your sleeve, being under the weather, being caught red handed, cracking someone up, breaking a leg and much more. FRANKFORT, KY (22 Nov 2016) - Thanksgiving is the most dangerous holiday of the year for motorists, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This includes the four-day holiday driving period surrounding that date when heavy traffic, weather and long-distance road trips combine to create severe travel conditions. Often, family celebrations include alcohol, which later evolves into impaired driving. Add that to heavy holiday traffic, and you have a recipe for disaster.

KSP arrests Murder suspect after multi-county car chase

Police arrest driver who allegedly led muliple law enforcement agencies on a multicounty chase from Bowling Green to MP 93 on I-65; arrest passenger on outstanding warrant from Jefferson County including murder, other charges.

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY - (Tue 22 Nov 2016) Kentucky State Police Post 03 and Post 04 Troopers along with CVE Region 2 Officers arrested two Louisville men after a lengthy pursuit that spanned several counties. On Tuesday, November 22, 2016 KSP Post 03 received information from the Bowling Green Police Department. in regards to a possible stolen Chevy Tahoe on the William Natcher Pkwy.

Bowling Green Police Officers lost contact with the vehicle after it entered onto I-65 northbound. A short time later KSP Post 03 Troopers along with CVE Officers and Warren Co Sheriff Deputies located the vehicle again and attempted to initiate a traffic stop at the 39 mile marker. The operator of the vehicle then accelerated and failed to stop and continued North on I-65 weaving in and out of traffic in a reckless manner in an attempt to elude Troopers.
