Carol Perkins & Connie Wilson's book: A Girl named Connie

"In short, this is a story about Connie's discovery on a crowded gravel playground at the Old Edmonton High School (our elementary school) by a disgruntled playmate) that she was adopted. She never told her parents what she knew, but spent the next forty plus years searching for answers and avoiding confrontations from those who often wanted to tell her 'what I have heard about you. . . ' Those answers would come in the form of a phone call late one night." - CAROL PERKINS

By Carol Perkins

After many years of planning, researching, interviewing, and observing, Connie Wilson and I have just finished her Memoir entitled "A Girl Named Connie." For those who remember Bill Wilson and Wilson's Dry Goods, you will also likely remember their daughter, Connie.

The Whitehurst Diaries: Between Cloudbursts - Rainy days album

'Here are a few rainy days photos taken this week around our Pellyton farm.'
- SHARON WHITEHURST.

By Sharon Whitehurst
Posts from Pellyton, Adair County, KY

I dash out when the cloudbursts let up for a few minutes, often sheltering my camera beneath a jacket.

Willis, faithful companion, trails along with me. He slid behind the wet stalks of a peony while I poked about to see what damage the latest deluge had created.

This is the first year of bloom in my iris bed--they held up well until a pounding Sunday morning rain left many of them stooped and tattered.

The single-flowered rugosas were in place when we acquired the farm. The willows along the lane are at their best in rainy weather. - Sharon Whitehurst

Thanks, Chris - You know the seemingly repeated scenes in that wonderful area, and there are similar ones to the one Junior Stotts submitted as Mystery Barn photo.
