The count is in: Wet-Dry Petition has failed Court Court Clerk Joyce Rodgers says on 1370 names left to be checked. The petition needed 1,891 votes (not the 1,788 previously reported on CM) Adair County Court Clerk Joyce Rodgers says that with no more than 1,370 signatures, which could possibly be valid, that the petition to have a Wet-Dry Vote in Adair County has failed. The 1,370 figure was obtained by throwing out obviously invalid signatures for illegibility, no address, no birthdate, and other obvious invalidating entries in one or more required fields.. Of the 1,370, Clerk Rodgers said, a fair number might be expected to fail because of duplications, signatures by voters not registered, and other reasons. "There's no point, now, in continuing the counting." She said. 2014-10-14 15:29:31 | Comments | Printable version
