Sycamore Springs: Native American Powwow at Edmonton, KY

It is still not too late for the folks of this area to enjoy a Native American Style Powwow over in Metcalfe County. Just a stones throw off the Cumberland Parkway (literally!) Directions clearly mark the way. It is being held at the Cumberland Parkway Motocross Track, 432 Old Glasgow RD, Edmonton KY with plenty of parking.

Unexpected Guest: While I was cleaning my back porch, this woodpecker flew in for a different meal than insects. I was very surprised he stayed while I took his photo. My birdfeeders are only about 10 feet from the back porch. -Johnnietta Jessie

John Robert Sobi, 76, Old Sano RD, Russell Springs, KY, died Friday, June 10, 2011, at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 14 2001, at 1pmCT, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, with Rev. Kevin Bryant the officiating clergy. Burial will be in the Russell Springs City Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be after 11amCT, Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at the Funeral Home.

BOIL WATER ADVISORY/from Columbia/Adair Utilities District

PUBLIC NOTICE
UPDATE: Boil Water Advisory outlined below has been lifted as of 12:50pmCT, on June 12, 2011 the boil water advisory
Date Issued: 06-11-11
Time Issued: 1:00 A.M.
A BOIL WATER ADVISORY is in effect for consumers of Columbia AdairUtilities District,
for residents for all the Public Square, out Campbellsville Street down to Lindsey Wilson Street, out Burkesville Street down toTutt Street, and out Greensburg Street to Wall Street.
The advisory has been issued due to Main Line Break.

Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure.

Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using.

This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality.

For more information concerning the Boil Water Advisory, contact Lennon Stone at Columbia/Adair Utilities District, 270-384-2181.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Campbellsville University's Max Wise, who is assistant professor of political science, will be featured on KET's Monday, June 13 Kentucky Tonight program with host Bill Goodman.

Wise will be on a panel to discuss Afghanistan, Iraq and homeland security. He was a former FBI employee in intelligence and counterterrorism.
