Barry Smith comments on Little League Barry Smith writes: As a member of the Adair County Little League Association's Board of Directors, I would like to apologize to the 350+ kids who play ball at Joe Johnson Little Park. I am sorry that the focus was taken away from you during the lack of communication and theatrics. I would also like to thank a few people: Beth Ellison for having kept the concession stand clean, organized, and running, and Nancy Taylor for being a great secretary and keeping our paper work straight. I am grateful for Tammy Morrison doing such a good job with the finances, and Howard Robertson for all the time he has put in at the Park. Mike Wall and the Youth Development Center have kept the park looking so nice this year. The fields look better than ever. Thanks to our president, Bo Biggs, for all of his hard work and dedication in making this one of the most successful seasons in recent years. There are too many more to mention as well...the list could go on and on. Your work has not gone unnoticed by everyone. Thanks to the parents/guardians who allow their children to play with our organization, and thanks to the kids who show up every week to play their hearts out and enjoy America's favorite pastime. Of course, the games couldn't happen without the great lineup of Coaches and the fair and consistent Umpires that have participated in the League sports this year. The same can be said for all of those individuals and businesses who contributed their hard-earned money to sponsor the teams this year. Countless hours have been dedicated by countless people so that Adair County Little League sports can continue at the Joe Johnson Little League Park. In closing, I hope that the people of Adair County come together once again and provide a sign everyone can be proud of. Again my apologies to all the kids--the main reason the Adair County Little League Association and its Board are even in existence! --Barry SmithComments re article 44868 Adair Co Little League welcomes help for new Joe Johnson sign This story was posted on 2011-06-11 08:21:16
