Boil Water Advisory issued Update: Boil Water Advisory lifted From Columbia/ Adair Utilities District Date Issued 04/24/2026, Time Issued 9:00pm A Boil Water Advisory is in effect for all consumers starting at 336 Chance Road to 12295 Fairplay Road and all side roads in between. The advisory has been issued due to a main line break. Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure. Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using. This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality. Alan Bird, 74, Adair County, KY Alan Chester Bird, 74, passed away January 27, 2026 due to complications from a July 2025 heart attack. Preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Mary Royer Bird and brother-in-law Richard Standeven. Alan is survived by his wife Anne Barnes and son Stuart Barr, sisters Cynthia Standeven and Barbara Herrbolt (Murray), nieces, nephews, their children and friends.
