Lindsey Wilson College Annual Employee Appreciation Dinner From Duane Bonifer The Lindsey Wilson College community wrapped up its annual Employee Appreciation Week with a dinner and awards ceremony Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in Roberta D. Cranmer Dining and Conference Center. More than two dozen Lindsey Wilson employees were honored for celebrating five, 10 or 20 years of service to the college, and six employees were recognized who are retiring from the college during the 2024-25 school year. Baseball: Adair County 8-6 so far By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer The Indians currently sit at 8-6 on the season. In our last update, the Indians had just come off a 9-5 win over Taylor County. Since then, the Indians have been quite busy, defeating Green County 14-1 in 6 innings on the road, and falling to Bowling Green 15-0 in 4 innings, before beginning the Green County Wooden Bat Tournament. In tournament play, Adair County fell in the opener 2-4 to Calloway County, defeated Garrard County 13-12 in their second game, and in their final game throughly defeated Union County 11-0 in 5 innings. Adair County then went on to notch their third straight win as they beat North Hardin 12-2 in 5 innings. This year, we've made the most significant update to the Floral Hall categories in the competition's history. This major redesign aims to boost participation, enhance competition, and bring the Floral Hall back to its nostalgic roots. We encourage you to carefully review the updated categories, as most have changed, especially with many now thoughtfully condensed. Johnny C. Tarter, 78, Adair Co., KY native (1946-2025) Johnny C. Tarter of Louisville, formerly of Columbia, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville. He was 78 years old. The family honored his wish to be cremated, and will hold a private family burial in Columbia Cemetery at a later date. George Caldwell, Sr., 99, Adair Co., KY (1925-2025) George Caldwell, Sr., of the Cane Valley community, died on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 10:19 A.M. at his home. He was 99 years old. The funeral service will be held at NoonCT on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Scott Curle delivering the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Bridgewater-Groves- Caldwell Cemetery in Green County, with full military honors presented by V.F. W. Post 6097. Visitation is requested from 5pmCT until 8pmCT on Friday at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home and after 10amCT on Saturday at the Church. There will no visitation at the funeral home on Saturday.
