Letter: Perfecting our language James Carmicle writes: Now scholars, if we can just get students to perfect their use of misused helping verbs and syntax errors (I had went, Me and my friend, we seen, had did) and work on pronunciation (git, wuz, agin, jist, ) and get those network news hosts and guests to stop using "well" before every first word or phrase they utter (an unnecessary filler word), the repeated use of "like" by speakers who have poor vocabulary skills and "moments ago" to either "minutes ago or a short time ago," we will be well on the way to perfecting our language against grammar hiccups, unnecessary filler words and ill-worded chyron displays on network television.Comments re: Students inducted into Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society 2025-04-16 20:14:07 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Letters and Reader Feedback
