Social Security Office, Campbellsville, to be closed by DOGE Larry Joe Smith, General Manager at The Big Dawg radio, reports that he has gotten a ton of comments on his Facebook post this morning about the closing of the Campbellsville location of the Social Security office. He said according to the Lexington Herald Leader two offices in the state of KY, one of them the Campbellsville Social Security Office, is scheduled to be closed by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Homeplace on Green River is accepting vendors of handmade, homemade, or home grown crafts, products, and produce. We also invite anyone with an artisan skill, historic collection, antique tractor, or antique farming implement to come show it off at the festival! Our vendor fees are waived for demonstrators, and half priced for non-profits. Vendor spaces range from $35 to $75. Thomas Lynn Wooldridge, 80, Russell County, KY native Thomas Lynn Wooldridge, 80, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on February 18, 2025. He grew up in Russell Springs Kentucky. He served in the United States, Navy, and later became a successful entrepreneur. Thomas loved fostering and helping children, he called all of them his children. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and spending time with his family. Thomas was dedicated to helping others in his family and in his community. Softball: LWC rolls past Union Commonwealth Barbourville, KY - The Lindsey Wilson softball ball team scored 25 runs on 25 hits en route to a pair of five-inning victories at Union Commonwealth (KY) on Wednesday afternoon, February 26, 2025. Every Blue Raider sent to the plate reached base at one point or another during the doubleheader, including Kendall Dailey and Sam Hartman who each contributed a team-high four hits. Atavya Fowler, Melaina Tucker, Katie Lorenz, and Natalie Wandrie finished with three hits, apiece, and Brylee Pickerell and Kaiden Rodgers drove in eight runs, collectively, on four hits. Health officials announce measles case in Kentucky From Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services Frankfort, KY - On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, health officials with the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH) and Franklin County Health Department announced a confirmed case of measles identified in an adult Kentucky resident. The resident had recently traveled internationally to an area with ongoing measles transmission. Kentucky health officials are working to identify and contact individuals who may have been exposed to the virus. The resident attended a fitness center in Frankfort, Kentucky while infectious. Individuals who were at the below location during the date and time listed may have been exposed: Planet Fitness at 101 Allen Way in Frankfort, Kentucky on Monday, February 17, 2025, between 9 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Measles is a highly contagious respiratory virus that can cause serious health complications, especially in young children. The measles virus spreads through the air and can survive for up to two hours after an infected person leaves an area. Early symptoms of measles begin 8-12 days after exposure and include high fever, cough, runny nose and red/watery eyes. The characteristic measles rash typically appears three to five days after symptoms begin, usually on the face before spreading down to the rest of the body.
