Old negatives come to life in digital prints By Linda Waggener On dark winter days, I look for indoor events that can warm my spirit - and this experience really did. The idea was formed last year when Phil Hanna showed me the Adair County Genealogy and History Center's addition of a scanner that would make digital photographs from old negatives. I was awed at his demonstration and declared I'd bring in some of my old files. Before I followed up, our friend Phil had passed away and taken his vast knowledge with him. So, missing him - and finding that none of his coworkers had gotten the training either - we set out on an adventure to put together what each of us could add. For instance, Mike Watson knew how to turn the scanner on and make sure it was connected to the computer. Always a good start.
