Mathew Allen Patterson, 62, Green County, KY Mathew Allen Patterson of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Theodore Patterson and Kathleen Frederick Patterson was born on Monday, July 30, 1962 in Liberty, Kentucky and departed this life on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at his home. Track and Field: LWC competes at Commodore Challenge Nashville, TN - The Lindsey Wilson men's track & field team competed at the Commodore Challenge at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility on Saturday. As a team, the Blue Raiders totaled six NAIA standards and there was also two school records broken. Marti Molins set a school record earned an "A" standard in the 1,000-meter. He finished fifth with a school record time of 2:25.91. Nick Cummins finished just behind him finishing in 2:40.25. David Requjo set a school record in the 300-meter as he finished 7th, with a record time of 36:15. Daniel Otibo placed third in the 400-meter with a time of 49.00. Luis Groff finished fourth in the high jump with a distance of 1.90 meters. Kairell Avery posted a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles finishing in 8.58. Russell County High grad Justin Stearns finished seventh in the mile with a time of 4:14.24. Free Tree Seedlings available at Extension Office From Nick Roy, Agent for Agriculture & Natural Resources Adair County Cooperative Extension Service The Adair County Cooperative Extension Service will be offering free tree seedlings to the public. Seedlings are available at the Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY, starting January 13, 2025, until January 15, 2025, or while supplies last. Seedlings available include redbud, pawpaw, black gum, pecan, and persimmon. Individuals may have up to four seedlings total. Seedlings have been sourced from the Kentucky Division of forestry. Basketball: First Battle of Hwy 55 goes to CU Men The Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raider men's basketball team came up short against rival Campbellsville 63-60 in the "Battle of Highway 55" on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Biggers Sports Center. Julian Cunningham led the Blue Raiders with 21 points shooting 50 percent from the field. Kenyata Carbon and Connor Robinson were the only Blue Raiders to join Cunnigham in scoring double-digit figures.
