Basketball: Lady Indians face Lady Hawks at home By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer The Adair County Lady Indians Basketball team return to action on Monday, January 13, 2025, as they host the LaRue County Lady Hawks at home. The game tips at 7pmCT at Adair County High School, 526 Indian Dr., Columbia, KY. LaRue sits at 3-8 on the season and comes off a 48-32 loss to Butler County, a team the Lady Indians defeated earlier in the season. The Lady Hawks also share mutual opponents John Hardin, Casey County, and Hart County. Both teams have defeated Hart County. The Lady Indians only loss of that batch came against John Hardin, while the Lady Hawks add a loss to Casey County as well. In Larue county's loss to Butler County, they shot just 21% from the floor, and went 0 for 9 from three. CACVFD responds to fire on Knifley Road From Grant Loy, Public Information Officer Columbia Adair County Fire Department On Saturday, January 11, 2025, the Columbia - Adair County Fire Department was dispatched at 07:38 hours to 5798 Knifley Road on a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found a residential two story structure with fire coming out of the second story windows. Firefighters made an offensive attack on the fire and quickly contained the fire to the second floor of this residence. The cause of this fire is unknown at this time. There were 16 firefighters on scene for approximately 2.5 hours. No injuries were reported at the time of the incident. Adair Schools in session, on 1-hour delay, Monday From Jason Faulkner, Superintendent Adair County Schools After checking roads this evening, we have determined that conditions are safe for school to be in session on a one-hour delay tomorrow, Monday, January 13, 2025. All staff will need to report one hour past their scheduled time, and doors will open at all schools no earlier than 8amCT. Robert Olie Larimore, 90, Green County, KY Robert Olie Larimore of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Olie Larimore and Annabelle Cook Larimore, was born on Saturday, August 25, 1934 in Greensburg and departed this life on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was 90 years, 4 months, and 16 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He worked as a cattle farmer and bee farmer. He served as the past President and Vice President of the Green County Farm Bureau Board and The Kentucky Farm Bureau Board. He was also a member of the Green County Gideon Camp. He was a veteran, having served his country honorably in the United States Army.
