Roads will be closed along parade route The Columbia Police Department reminds everyone that local roads will be closed along the route for the annual Christmas Parade shortly before 5pmCT on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Roads will remain closed for the duration of the parade. "The Hip-Hop Nutcracker. It's at the Brown Theater in Louisville. You want to go?" Of course, I knew he didn't, and he would have been miserable. I knew this show would differ from my usual taste in plays/concerts, but I needed to have an adventure. Having never seen the original Nutcracker, I assumed this would follow the same storyline, but instead of ballet and orchestra music, it would feature hip-hop and break-dancing, and I was half right. Swimming: Hour of Power Relay raises funds for cancer research The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's swim team will join thousands of fellow student-athletes across the country on Monday, December 9, 2024, for the 19th annual Ted Mullin "Leave it in the Pool" Hour of Power Relay for Sarcoma Research, sponsored by the Carleton College (MN) swimming and diving teams. The "Hour of Power" swim practice is a dynamic 60-minute relay training session that requires all-out efforts from all participating team members. It is a challenging workout that fuels both team spirit and team energy. The Blue Raiders plan to start their hour at 9amCT on Monday. The teams have also arranged community service projects to follow the relay, including spending time at J.O.Y. Ministries, Summit Manor Nursing Home, and cleaning up for Columbia's annual Christmas parade.
