Boys and Girls Basketball at Taylor County By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer The Adair County Boys Basketball team is back in action Friday night, December 6, 2024 on the road against Taylor County immediately following the girl's game. The team comes off a close loss to Cumberland County which they will hope to rebound from tonight. Adair County has not lost a regular season district game in 23 months, and they seek to keep that streak alive tonight. Della Mae Damron, 77, Campbellsville, KY (1947-2024) Della Mae Damron of Campbellsville, KY, the daughter of the late George E. Maynard Sr. and Opal Baisden Maynard was born on March 12, 1947, and departed this life on Sunday, December 1, 2024. She was 77 years of age. She was of the Church of God faith and retired from the Fruit of The Loom set sleeve department after 25 years. She enjoyed UK basketball, music and singing, and playing rook and rummy. Adair County man arrested on Meth charges Deputy Joey Keith with the Adair County Sheriff's Office initiated a traffic stop approximately 4 and half miles North of Columbia on Campbellsville Road Saturday, November 30, 2024. The traffic stop continued another half mile onto Cane Valley Road before the vehicle stopped. Deputy Keith made contact with operator, 34-year-old Brandon Greer of Columbia. Greer had 3 active warrants which included a Russell County Indictment Warrant, Russell County Bench Warrant, and an Adair County Bench Warrant. As a result of the traffic stop, an undetermined amount of suspected methamphetamine and a large amount of cash were confiscated. David Collins, 36, Adair County, KY (1988-2024) David Andrew Collins, 36, died November 24, 2024 at his residence. A master of unexpected comedy and crude humor, David transformed life's ordinary moments into extraordinary laughs. From his massive family of 12 siblings, whom he loved with tremendous devotion, to his four daughters, David's life was a testament to the power of unconditional love and uncontrollable humor. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 2pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Curtis Grant officiating. Celia Mae Campbell Atwell, 79, Greensburg, KY Celia Mae Campbell Atwell, of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Burton Campbell and Lena Willis Campbell, was born on Sunday, August 26, 1945 in Louisville and passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024. She was 79 years, three months, and six days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of East Campbellsville Church of God. She was united in marriage to Bobby Joe Atwell on January 23, 1971, who preceded her in death on January 17, 2018.
