Super Blue Moon over Fairplay

2024-08-20 - Fairplay, KY - Photo by Veronica Arnold.
Veronica writes, "I managed to snap these pictures with my cell phone around 0100hrs today. I was up late trying to catch good images of the moon. There were lots of clouds but it was bright and I caught a shot between holes in the clouds.

There are varying darkness on the pictures as thin clouds would pass between the Moon and me. Amazing that these came from a cell phone."

Letter: Stop lights

Marie writes:
Simply put up stoplights, time them so people can get around the Square, and it would also make it safer for pedestrians to cross. Seems simple to me.

Letter: Those pesky signs

Mike Bell writes:
I forgot to mention in my letter yesterday , look at the photo and you will see that on the sign nothing is bent or broken but is pulled up from the hole in which it sits. Boy, sure is fun to harp on the things of local government ain't it? But I think it is time to let this thing go! It is nothing new. Find something else to harp about, surely to goodness there's subjects more important than trucks and signs to complain about. Have a single one of you lost sleep over either of these two problems? Give It A Rest!

Letter: Yield sign

Calvin Claywell writes:
There are already night light post on each side of the four streets entering the town circle. Place an electric cable between the two light post, at the regulated height, place a yield sign with a single red flashing light beside the yield sign on the cable. Do that on each of the four street corners entering the town circle.

There are a lot of electrical wires above the town. Four more wires won't detract from the beauty of down town.
