Letter: Surefire method for thistle control

Dave Rosenbaum writes:
The several suggestions on control of thistles omitted perhaps the most certain, tested method of getting rid of troublesome plants.

In mid-twentieth century Fairplay, one of the most vexing problems that farmers faced was the invasive and troublesome Bermuda grass. Most folks called it "moody grass." This was before Roundup, and the grass would invade all the crops.

One of the neighbors came into the store one day and announced, "Well Stan, I got rid of my moody grass".

This announcement got the attention of the several loafers present. Someone asked, "How in the world did you get rid off it?"

The farmer responded, "I sold my farm".

Eric says, "This was a great family vacation including Hares, Moores, and Pruyears. Filled with beautiful meals, breathtaking scenery, belly laughs, and even some new friends met along the way. I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else. Put these places on your list, it's worth every minute of it."
