Andy Beshear has ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Saturday, April 6, in honor of a Somerset-Pulaski County EMT who died in the line of duty. Chastian Tyler McWhorter, age 26, of Albany, Kentucky, was killed Monday in Garrard County when the ambulance he was driving was struck by a semi. Regional Health have been awarded funds to purchase 960 doses of life-saving intranasal Narcan and 15 Opioid Rescue Kits through the 2024 ASAP and Harm Reduction Grants. These Opioid Rescue Kits and intranasal Narcan doses are available free of charge to businesses, community organizations, and individuals in Barren, Hart, and Metcalfe Counties.
