Carol Perkins: Purple Chicks

Previous Column: Happy Birthday Mama

By Carol Perkins

Easter is the last Sunday of March, and signs of the season begin with the blooming of buttercups and hyacinths. My mother has the old-fashioned kind of hyacinths that have a wonderful aroma. Mine do not. I have a bouquet of hers on my kitchen window seal, and the house smells like Easter.

From Michael Moore

Richmond, KY - On March 8, 2024, Gov. Local area graduates included Darian J. Mitchell with the Greensburg Police Department, and Jeri A. Spencer with Barren-Metcalfe County ECC.

"Thank you for answering the call of service," Gov. Beshear said. "Your mission is an important one, as you are now the lifeline to those facing some of their darkest and scariest times. Thank you for being a hero and the ears to Kentucky's first responders."

Letter: When will we get a signal?

Billy Joe Fudge writes:
Well, here we go again! The second busiest four lane with turning lanes, 55mph intersection and it has no traffic signal. How many will have to be injured and, God forbid, killed before a signal is installed?
