Letter: Probably my Aunt Pauline Browning's buttercups

Vicky Pike writes:
My dad's brother Tommy Browning and his wife Pauline lived in that house along with their girls Janice Judy Patty and Ellen. I remember visiting them on Sunday afternoons when I was a small child. Just wondering what will be done with the property? I heard once maybe a restaurant but I see nothing has happened there yet.
Comments re: Daffodil watch 2024 - Walmart view
Vicky, thank you for the reminder of the family connection! I wondered how long it will be before the corner goes commercial and the pretty landscape will have to be dozed. - LW

Recommended reading for a glimpse of our future

By Linda Waggener

Thinking about what's ahead in this new year, I recommend reading "21 lessons for the 21st Century." Lots to think about.

Readers are invited to consider values, meaning, and personal engagement in a world filled with noise and uncertainty. The book, by Yuval Noah Harari, gives a glimpse of what life and jobs look like in the near future.
