Nathan Burton, 48, Adair County, KY (1975-2023) Charles Nathan Burton, 48, of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, December 29, 2023. He was born in Columbia, KY on February 24, 1975 to Phillip Burton and Vickie Goodin Milby who survive. He was known for his tree trimming work in the area and always caught everyone's attention with adventurous videos of his work on social media. He enjoyed hiking and being outdoors but most of all spending time with his family and friends. Nathan attended the New Hope Separate Baptist Church as a youth and was of the Christian faith. Bennie Montgomery, 72, Green County, KY (1951-2023) Bennie Clay Montgomery of Green County, Kentucky, son of the late Benjamin Johnson "B.J." Montgomery and Ruby Janelle Curry Montgomery, was born on Saturday, September 15, 1951 in Campbellsville, Kentucky and departed this life early Saturday, December 30, 2023 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was 72 years, 3 months and 15 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. He was a former banker for the then, Greensburg Deposit Bank, owner of Convenient Food Mart, and sales manager for Commonwealth/Transamerica Insurance Company. He loved horseback riding and hunting. He was past treasurer and past president for the Greensburg Rotary Club, an honorary Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Hill and Valley Saddle Club, but was mainly known for his love for his grandchildren and family. Shell sworn in as KY Commissioner of Agriculture From Lisa Tolliver Frankfort, KY - Jonathan Shell has officially been sworn in as Kentucky's next Commissioner of Agriculture. Shell was sworn in at a ceremony in Lancaster, Kentucky, at the Garrard County Courthouse. He was surrounded by friends and family including his wife, Brooke, and children, Jaxson, Lydia, Reagan, and Gracelyn. Shell becomes Kentucky's 36th Commissioner of Agriculture. He is a fifth generation farmer. He will also participate in a public swearing in ceremony Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the State Capitol. Kolbenschlags find a white Christmas in Utah Click title for photos from the trip George and Vonnie Kolbenschlag sought a white Christmas in Salt Lake City with son George and his family and son Peter. They found lots of snow at Snowbird Ski Resort in the Wasatch mountains where George Jr. is mountain school director. Snowbird is located about 30 minutes from George's home in SLC. This year has set a snowfall record at the resort with 838 inches (that's 70 feet) of the white stuff.
