Artesian sulphur water continues to flow

2023-12-20 - Sulphur Well, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
This painting of "the gum" hangs in the Lighthouse Restaurant. You can still walk down to this original artesian well that gave Sulphur Well its name and take a sip of white sulphur water. The footbridge across the Little Barren River went over to the grove which was once the site of the dancehall and Beulah Villa Hotel. My grandmother kept a pitcher of the "healing water" in the fridge all my growing up years. - LW

Kudos to our EDA members

By Vicky Pike

I am so proud of our EDA board for providing the leadership and get up and go this community has needed for years. Please, everyone get behind these leaders and watch what could happen to our little town that has set stagnant way too long. Under their leadership the sky is the limit. Do all you can to urge our other leadership how important economic development is to our town. We have all at one time or another asked why cannot we have. We can have now with this leadership. So support them with all you have.

Thank you and Merry Christmas to all from the Pampered Angus Ranch crew and a happier new year for Adair county in the year to come. Im expecting big things from this group. --Vicky and Zippy; first cat of Greater Bliss/New Columbia
