KELC: September 2023 Unemployment Report From Mike Clark/Kim Saylor Brannock Frankfort, KY - Kentucky's seasonally adjusted preliminary September 2023 unemployment rate was 4.1%, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics (KYSTATS), an agency within the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet (KELC). The preliminary September 2023 jobless rate was up 0.1 percentage point from August 2023 and was up 0.1 percentage point from one year ago. The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for September 2023 was 3.8%, which was unchanged from August 2023, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
