Kentucky Tourism promoting Shorelines of Southern Kentucky

The latest push by the Kentucky Department of Tourism features the "beauty and adventure in Southern Kentucky in the fall," with a trip planning page that features Lake Cumberland, Dale Hollow Lake, and Green River Lake.

For some reason, you can't select Columbia from the drop list of searchable cities in the "Plan Your Trip" section, but local highlights on the site include The Janice Holt and Henry Giles House, Holmes Bend Marina and Resort, and the John B. Begley Chapel. Among other local landmarks, there's also a cryptic entry for Hovious Ridge Road, and an outdated reference to the lamented Circle R Restaurant.

Letter: Gas prices

Ann Pearson writes:
I filled up yesterday in Edmonton due to the big price difference between there and Columbia. It's sad such a small area has better prices. Columbia always seems higher than Campbellsville and other surrounding areas. I like to shop local but with everything so high right now I take a bargain where I can get one!
