Charging table for all on Lindsey Wilson campus

There's a unique charging station built into a picnic table between the Lindsey Wilson College tennis court and Wellness Center in Columbia. The table has a solar panel on top covered with plexiglass, the battery and phone charging ports underneath, all in the welcoming sitting spot in the high traffic area.

The project was completed through a Solar Applications course taught at LWC and serves to show functional renewable energy uses in our everyday lives.

It was designed and built by Evan Mahanna (class of 2022) who hopes everyone will "enjoy spending time outside at this table and charge your phone while you're at it."

Knifley Grade Center: memories from Principal Reed

By Alan W. Reed, Supt. (Ret.)

I was principal at Knifley Grade Center seven years. Our students, from proud and supportive rural families, much enjoyed flying to Washington, D.C. and scored very high on state tests every year. Knifley was the school to beat on monthly school school attendance.

So many wonderful teachers got their start at KGC and many retired there.

I would be amiss not to mention the legendary 8th grade teacher, Ludora Perkins, and our school custodian, Mr. Gene Tedder, who was the undisputed king of shine. You could eat off the floors. The awesome primary teachers taught me what a good primary school academic program was supposed to look like.
