Joyce M. Pickett, 81, Adair Co., KY native (1941-2023) Joyce Marie (Moore) Pickett of Shepherdsville, formerly of Adair County, returned to her Heavenly Father on July 31, 2023. She was 81 years old. The funeral service will be held at NoonET on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Shoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 N. Preston Highway, Shepherdsville, KY. Burial will follow in the Moore Cemetery in Adair County, with a Graveside service at 2pmCT. CPD: Two charged with assault after physical altercation By Officer Adam Cravens, PIO Columbia Police Department On Monday, July 31, 2023, the Columbia Police Department responded to a physical altercation which took place at the intersection of Bull Run Road and Liberty Road, just outside the city limits. A male victim sustained a head injury which required medical attention, and victim's vehicle had been vandalized on scene. Arrest warrants were obtained for one male and one female subject. CPD: Sealed indictment warrant served By Officer Adam Cravens, PIO Columbia Police Department On Tuesday night, August 1, 2023, Officers served a sealed indictment warrant at a residence on Gaston Avenue stemming from an investigation from Columbia HIDTA Office for drug trafficking and drug possession. Officers took a male subject into custody and, while on scene, discovered additional paraphernalia and over 12 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
