Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure. Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using. This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality. The Blue Raider volleyball team, having entered Monday in the midst of a drought, rekindled its winning ways with a 3-1 decision over Bethel University, effectively halting the Wildcats' win streak after three matches. The local's victory avenges a defeat handed down by the 'Cats earlier in the season in Columbia, and pushes Lindsey Wilson back to 0.500 against conference opponents heading into Tuesday's bout at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee. CPD: Man charged with wanton endangerment By Officer Adam Cravens, PIO Columbia Police Department On Monday night, October 24, 2022, officers from the Columbia Police Deaprtment responded to Grissom Street after receiving a call from parents who stated that a neighbor had pointed a handgun at their 16 year old son while he was walking a dog. Officers made contact with a male subject at his residence on Pyles Court. The man admitted he drew a handgun on the juvenile, stating that he thought the juvenile was in his yard, before then stating to officers that he wasn't sure if the 16 year old was actually on his property. OCC 2022 Collection Dates Collection dates for Operation Christmas Child have been set for November 14-21, 2022. Once again in Adair County, boxes will be collected at the Wheet Fellowship Hall at the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene, 1200 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY. According to Green River Team Area Coordinator Mark Fudge, the need for shoe box gifts is greater now than ever before. "We want to provide as many shoe box gifts of hope as we possibly can to children and their families. I'm asking churches, businesses, and individuals to join in this wonderful global ministry.
