T-shirt fundraiser for ACMS Cheerleaders From Brianna Hinebaugh-Estes Adair Co. Middle School Cheer Coach Adair County Middle School Cheerleaders have the opportunity to compete for the first time in about 5 years. There are two competitions in November. KAPOS Region 5 competition will be on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Elizabethtown High School. The other is UCA Bluegrass, and if we place well at this one we can qualify to go to nationals in Orlando, FL. The ACMS Cheerleaders are selling t-shirts to raise funds for upcoming events. ACMS Cheer t-shirts will be $16 for most sizes ($19 for 2X and up) and they can be purchased with cash, check or credit card. T-shirts may be ordered by sending an email to brianna.hinebaugh-estes@adair.kyschools.us or by texting 606-425-8145. Wilson & Hood will remove the Shepherd stock to the Butler [i.e., west] corner where they conduct a general store." A year and a half later (May 1923) came word that "Mr. Albin Murray and Mr. Geo. O. Barnes have purchased the Columbia Bakery and will continue the business at the same place. The bakery will be cut off from Wilson's store by a petition (sic). Mr. Barnes is an experienced baker." Gov. Beshear, First Lady receive updated COVID-19 boosters From Crystal Staley/Scottie Ellis Frankfort, KY - During an event hosted in the Capitol Rotunda, Gov. Andy Beshear and First Lady Britainy Beshear rolled up their sleeves to receive the newly updated bivalent COVID-19 booster on Wednesday. The Governor encouraged Kentuckians to get vaccinated and boosted and called upon leaders in government and other sectors to encourage others to get a shot of hope. "I am here to publicly take this shot of hope and encourage others to get this crucial protection," Gov. Beshear said. "These vaccines are extremely safe and effective. Picnic enjoyed at Veterans Memorial Park The Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce annual September picnic was held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at the Veterans Memorial Park (formerly the Roadside Park), on Hwy 55 South, Columbia, KY.
