Who was lady with the big flowers at Circle R?

By Ralph Waggener

Byron Crawford recently asked who was the lady at the Circle R who wore the big flowers everyday? It was of course Sylvia Wilson!

Sylvia getting her job is a story by itself! Her brother-in-law, Leo Wheatley, built a motel across the street from the Circle R and had been after J. D. Harper to open for breakfast with no results!

Leo came to the Circle R and showed J. D. a blueprint of a restaurant that he said he would build if J. D. did not open for breakfast!

J. D. told him he had no one to run it and Leo told him, "I can take care of that, my sister-in-law Sylvia Wilson will do that for you!" That's when Sylvia and her flowers became a a big draw to the Circle R! Success can come in many and various ways!

Hedges provides update on DoorDash service

By Daniel Hedges

I wanted to provide my 6 month/summer update for DoorDash. When DoorDash first started this business in June of 2021, only four businesses participated.

Through promotion, phone calls, emails, and communication with DoorDash, I have grown the services to include eight more locations.

With lingering health concerns and the price of gas, let me or another driver go get your food. In the meantime, relax on your couch and save the gas. I work most nights, 7 days a week, as my other obligations allow.

Coming week a great one for getting Vitamin D

Weather this week promises to be great for sunshine which prompts the body to produce Vitamin D. A few minutes of direct sunlight each day can bring big health benefits.

When you will be outdoors for more than 20 minutes, use a broad spectrum sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays. If you're taking the family to the beach, use one with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 and make sure to reapply every two hours.
