Boil Water Advisory issued for Breeding Area Update: Boil Water Advisory lifted for Breeding Area From Ashley Bennett Date Issued 5/21/2022 Time Issued 5:00pm A Boil Water Advisory is in effect for consumers of Columbia Adair Utilities District for customers in the Breeding area. The advisory has been issued due to a main line leak. Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure. Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using. This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality. Bobby Mitchell Barrett, 86, Metcalfe County, KY (1935-2022) Bobby Mitchell Barrett, 86, of Summer Shade passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow. Born, October 12, 1935 in Metcalfe County he was the son of the late R.P. and Beluah Jesmond James Barrett. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers. Lonnie and Archie Barrett. After high school he served in the United States Navy and later retired from General Telephone and then worked 11 years at South Central Rural Telephone Coop in Glasgow. He struck out blindly, shrugging from under broken plaster and broken bits of brick and lumber. Something was wrong! Suddenly his head was free and driving rain pelted his face. She departed this life Friday, May 20, 2022, at her home in Green County, having attained the age of sixty-one years, nine months, and ten days. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Separate Baptist Church. Chesney worked as a florist. She enjoyed spending time and traveling with her grandchildren. Kenneth Zaring Pierce, 82, Cumberland County, KY Kenneth Zaring Pierce, age 82 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. He was a member of Burkesville Baptist Church, a 47-year employee of Houchens Grocery in Burkesville, an employee of the Lake Cumberland Area Development District assisting with Senior Citizens, was a board member of LCADD and a former member of the Burkesville Fire Department. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
