Emergency road aid funds awarded to Cumberland Co. By Amber Hale Somerset, KY - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) today announced the Cumberland County Fiscal Court will receive $25,600 in County Road Aid emergency funds for a bridge replacement project on Dutch Creek Cemetery Road (CR 1415). "The Transportation Cabinet is pleased to approve this request for funding to provide assistance to Cumberland County to repair and maintain safe connections in the community," said Transportation Secretary Jim Gray. KSP investigates trooper-involved shooting in Green Co. By Trooper Nick Hale Greensburg, KY - The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) is investigating a trooper-involved shooting that occurred on April 9, 2022, at approximately 9:15pmCT in Green County. The KSP Critical Incident Response Team responded to the scene, and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing. A male subject was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other citizens were injured during the incident. You'll find old fashioned treats, crafts and home cooking. Food being served up the day we visited included a daily special plus generous sandwiches on homemade bread. And for dessert, we decided on big scoops of Chaney's hard ice cream (a Bowling Green company) in waffle cones. That's what granddaughter Tillie recommends after the experience. Beshear, Kentucky State Police Recognize Dispatchers for their Essential Role in Law Enforcement By Captain Paul Blanton Frankfort, KY - In honor of National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, Gov. Andy Beshear and the Kentucky State Police (KSP) are recognizing dispatchers who answer the call daily to provide assistance and assurance to citizens of the commonwealth. "Seldom seen by the citizens they serve, telecommunicators perform critical roles in delivering public safety services while calming those who are experiencing their most traumatic moment," Gov. Beshear said. "Their dedication and service are second to none, and all of us on Team Kentucky want to thank our 'heroes behind the headsets' for creating a better and safer commonwealth." National Public Safety Telecommunications Week was established in 1981 by Patricia Anderson of the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office in California.
