Dogs running loose in Columbia are in the spotlight An 18-year resident of Columbia is appealing to the City for help with dogs running loose and also excessive barking through the night. Police have been contacted over and over, they have talked to the neighbors who own the dogs. The neighbors claim they have the electronic fence with electronic leashes on their dogs. Those dogs, however, are regularly seen outside their yard chasing LWC students jogging by and walkers on the street. On Friday skies be mostly cloudy, with a 40 percent chance of showers, and thunderstorms also possible after 3pm. Expect a high near 68F. South wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Tonight will be cloudy, with a 100 percent chance of showers, and possibly thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain, and a flood watch will remain in effect through Saturday evening for most of central Kentucky. The overnight low will be around 58F. Southwest wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. New Year's Day will be cloudy, with a 100 percent chance of showers, and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. The high will be near 71F, and it will be breezy, with a south wind 9 to 14 mph increasing to 16 to 21 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 37 mph. Saturday night will bring an 80 percent chance of showers, and possibly a thunderstorm, which could produce heavy rain. Expect an overnight low around 43F. Southwest wind 11 to 14 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph. Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with a 60 percent chance of rain showers, possibly mixed with snow showers.
