Football: LWC advances to NAIA FCS Quarterfinals By Christopher Webster For the third straight season, the No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson football team advances to the NAIA FCS Quarterfinals. The Blue Raiders (11-0) defeated Montana Western 48-21 to continue their postseason run. Jaylen Boyd was named the NAIA Football Championship Series First Round Offensive Player of the Game, averaging 5.1 yards per rush with 143 total yards and two touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Robert Carter was awarded the NAIA FCS First Round Defensive Player of the Game, recording five tackles, four solo, and three pass breakups. Basketball: LWC Women rally in 2nd half for comeback win By Kyle Jackson Henderson, TN - The No. 14-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team rallied back in the second half to complete the comeback win over Freed-Hardeman (TN) on Saturday afternoon. Maleigha Oldham led the Blue Raiders (4-1, 1-1 MSC) in scoring with a season-high 20 points on the afternoon. Bree Glover led the team in rebounds on the day collecting seven in the game. As a team, Lindsey Wilson shot 41.9 percent overall and 25 percent from beyond the arc. The Blue Raiders outrebounded the Lions 32-26 while both teams had 13 turnovers. Basketball: LWC Men lose 79-84 to Freed-Hardeman By Kyle Jackson Henderson, TN - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team suffered their second consecutive loss of the season, dropping their second conference game of the season to Freed-Hardeman (TN) 79-84. Elijah Jordan led the Blue Raiders (5-3, 0-2 MSC) in scoring with 25 points on the evening while Mark Edmond led the team in rebounding with eight in the game. Calvin Fugett and Giir Ring also had double-digit points tonight for the Blue Raiders. As a team, the Blue Raiders shot 45.3 percent from the floor while shooting 62.5 percent from the free-throw line compared to the Lions 45.5 percent from the floor and 87.9 from the free-throw line. Geneva (Penny) Haskins Crenshaw, 88, Knob Lick, KY Geneva "Penny" Haskins Crenshaw, 88, of Knob Lick, Kentucky passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, November 16, 2021. She attended Mt. Moriah Elementary School of Greensburg, KY and Durham High School of Campbellsville, Kentucky and graduated in 1951. She professed hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She served as president of the Missionary Society for many years. She remained a faithful member until her death. She loved God. She loved everyone; she did not meet a stranger, always had a smile on her face, and of course, always had on her red lipstick and earrings. She loved to cook and loved to cook for everyone. She always welcomed you into her home and offered you a meal or two. She loved talking to her friends on the phone and laughing. She worked outside the home for many years before becoming a homemaker. She was Geneva, Momma, GiGi, Granny, Penny, Aunt Penny, and Aunt Geneva to most people. She loved her family and friends very much. She loved her two grandsons; they both knew GiGi/Granny would always have their best interest in mind.
