Travis Keith Snow, 58, Taylor County, KY (1962-2021)

Travis Keith Snow of Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of Sarah Ann Matney Snow of Greensburg and the late Jerry Keith Snow, was born on Thursday, December 27, 1962 in Taylor County and departed this life on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 58 years, 9 months, and 5 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Community Baptist Church. Travis was a machine operator for Alutrim, was a farmer, loved to fish and play his banjo.

Rondal Farries Honeycutt, 74, Taylor County, KY (1947-2021)

Rondal Farries Honeycutt, 74, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of the late Ruady Farries Honeycutt and Eva Sparkman Honeycutt was born in Cumberland County on February 3rd, 1947, and departed this life on Wednesday, September 29th, 2021, at Taylor Regional Hospital.

He professed his faith in Christ and was affiliated with General Baptist Church. Rondal was a former employee of GE and retired from GE after being employed for 30 years as an assembly worker. He was a former member of the Bullitt County Coon Hunters Club. Rondal was a very avid hunter of coons, rabbits, and squirrels and enjoyed fishing.

Soccer: LWC Women upset no. 6 Cumberlands in overtime

Williamsburg, KY - For the second game in a row, Yudaya Nakayenze scored an overtime winner for the Blue Raiders to remain undefeated in conference play this season. The goal, scored in the 100th minute of play, is the fifth goal scored by Nakayenze this season and second in overtime.

Lindsey Wilson outshot the No. 6-ranked team in the country 13-8 with an 8-6 shot on goal mark. Maya Caon made five saves in the match with Nakayenze and Thoresen both getting on the score sheet.

Flags to half-staff Sunday in honor of fallen firefighters

Frankfort, KY - In accordance with a proclamation from the White House, Gov. Andy Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Sunday, October 3, 2021, in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.

The National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service commemorates the brave firefighters and first responders who risk their lives to protect Americans. The service begins Fire Prevention Week, which takes places October 3-9, 2021.

Cross-Country: LWC Prepare for Great Louisville Classic

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's cross-country teams continue their season tomorrow in the Greater Louisville Classic. Both teams are scheduled to begin at 10amCT/11amET.

The race will be in Louisville for the twentieth year in a row.

The No. 16-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team continues their road trip for a top-25 matchup against No. 6 Cumberlands (KY) on Saturday at 11amCT.

The No. 16-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team (4-1-1, 3-0 MSC) will continue Mid-South Conference play on Saturday when they face the No. 24-ranked Cumberlands (KY) men's team. Kickoff for the men's game is set for 1:30pmCT.

IMPORTANT - Due to the continued increase in positive cases it may be several days before you are contacted by the health department. If you've tested positive for COVID19 please isolate yourself immediately, do NOT wait on a call from the health department.

Please notify anyone you may have been in contact with so they can begin quarantine. Visit www.lcdhd.org for more specific COVID-19 guidance.

Of today's 293 reported cases, 262 (89%) were unvaccinated and 77 of today's cases (26%) were in individuals 18 years of age or younger. Please take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and your loved ones. Consider getting the vaccine if you are eligible and haven't, and wear a mask when in indoor settings where there are large crowds.

Statewide Testing Positivity Rate: 9.67%.

KSP arrests Pulaski man on child sexual exploitation

On September 30, 2021, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Electronic Crime Branch located and arrested James Joseph Stagg, 42, on charges related to a child sexual abuse material investigation.

Stagg was interviewed and arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect distributing sexually explicit images online.

CPD: Felony assault

The Columbia Police Department responded to an active domestic call on Baker Street on Friday night, October 1, 2021.

Upon arrival, officers could hear male subject from outside the residence and quickly made entry into the home. After making contact and observing visible injuries on female victim and speaking with her, male subject was placed into custody with no further incident.
