Letter: Lake Hartwell High School tournament

Gene Burton writes:
I was talking to one of my friends who is a boat captain for Barren County High School, and I found out the MLF/ (TBF) The Bass Federation is hoisting their High School National Championship on Lake Hartwell 6/30 - 7/3. It's my understanding there will be around 500 teams there to compete.

First and foremost, I hope everyone has a safe event. I personally know two teams that are there right now while official practice is going on. I would like to wish the team of Eaton/Morris representing Barren County High School fishing team and Delk/Hafley representing Taylor County High School fishing team good luck.

Be safe and good luck to everyone. --Gene Burton

By Linda Waggener

As the new fiscal year starts Thursday, July 1, 2021, Chad Parnell begins his journey as principal of Adair County High School. A look at his bio, below, shows how the Adair County native has moved up the ladder from Adair County schools student, to graduate, teacher, innovator, assistant Principal and now to ACHS Principal.

He feels good about the positive culture that has been building over the past years under Principal Troy Young who retired this summer and Parnell aims to keep the momentum going.

"We have exceptional faculty and staff," he says. He believes all 96 of them are ready to see their 750 students face-to-face as school begins in August and help them through the challenges of being back in "regular" classes for the first time since March of 2020.
