Letter: Loved Carol's Father's Day article

Philip Coffey writes:
Please share with Carol that I loved her article, "Design a Father." My Dad was not all of these, but enough of them to make me proud to have him as a Father.

To me, his making it through the day given all he had endured in battle and continuing in his head, was plenty good enough for me and much more left over to spread around which is what he did daily, religiously.

Travel: Biltmore Estate Garden Tour

By Linda Waggener

We'd dreamed and talked about taking a road trip together all through the pandemic and finally, both of us fully vaccinated, my sister and I decided the time was right to head east and south.

We left Columbia in her Ford Explorer about 7am on a gray June morning. We'd planned on leaving an hour earlier but it was pouring rain with no sign of it passing on by. That rain would follow us all through our travels, leaving just enough dry periods for the stops that were important to us.

Perfect Father's Day gift - project completed!

By Ellen Zornes

JD had a wonderful Father's Day! He has been wanting to clean out and organize the garage ever since we moved here. This weekend it happened.

Adam loves woodworking and building, so he and Kyle arranged to get it done for JD. Adam brought all the wood and he had already given JD good tools through these three years so he didn't have to bring many of his from home.

He built custom fit raised wooden pads for the shelves to fit on, hung peg board to hold the tools, then JD and Kyle organized and filled the shelves with all our junk! Adam first learned woodworking skills from JD who learned from his father. A great weekend!
