This is a request for prayers for miraculous healing for Mitzi so she can get back to gardening and canning with Ricky, growing flowers and kayaking with friends, and keep up with her continuous mission of helping others. State officials warn voters of bogus mailers and texts

By Miranda Combs

Frankfort, KY - Secretary of State Michael Adams and Attorney General Daniel Cameron announce two election scams aimed at Kentuckians.

In one, Kentuckians are receiving letters from a group called the "Center for Voter Information," pushing them to register to vote. However, the letters have been sent to people who are already registered to vote. The Center purports to have a Frankfort address on its mailers, but in fact the address simply represents a mailbox at a UPS Store.

Because the letters encourage people to register who have already done so, they confuse voters and disrupt Kentucky election officials' efforts.

By Chris Wells

Lindsey Wilson women's basketball student-athlete Reagan Turner has been named the 2020 NAIA Emil S. Liston Scholarship Award recipient, NAIA officials announced today as part of the NAIA's National Awards Day.

The Emil S. Liston award recognizes both academic and athletic excellence by a men and women's basketball student-athlete. "I am so honored to be the female recipient of the Emil S. Liston Scholarship Award," Turner said. "Academics and basketball have always been some of my biggest passions in life. It means so much to me to be recognized for all of the hard work and dedication I have put into both. I just want to thank God, my family, coaches, teammates, and all of the people that have helped and encouraged me along the way."

History of the Columbia-Campbellsville stagecoach

The following history of the Columbia-Campbellsville stagecoach was written by my mother, Effie Heskamp (1910-2009) when I asked her to tell me what she knew about it. -- Ann Heskamp Curtis

The stage coach that operated between Campbellsville and Columbia around the turn of the (20th) century was owned by Joe B. "Buck" Barbee who bought the "Concord" model for $2,000. Mr. Barbee had the contract to handle passengers, mail and express to stop at every post office along the route between the two towns. He also was authorized to open the lock sack at each place.

Some of the post offices along the route at that time were Cane Valley, Coburg, Romine and Burdick.
