Rep. Bam Carney family asks for continued prayers

May 5, 2020 update on Rep. John Bam Carney from his brother Mark Carney.
Shared by Dr. John Chowning

"Today is 135 and Bam continues to be in Norton's Hospital. Two things we would like to ask you to pray for tonight and over the next few days would be for us - at least one of us - be able to get back in the room with Bam soon (it has been 7 weeks since we have been with him now) and for his blood to get healthy in terms of infection, thick/thin and hemoglobin level.

"We appreciate the continued thoughts and prayers of each and everyone of you. We have been able to witness and feel the power of prayer and your prayers have been a huge blessing to Bam and each of us.

Teacher's thoughts, spring semester 2020: Christina Burton

By Christina Burton

The saying, "you don't know what you've got until it's gone," is so true.

I have always enjoyed teaching. Teaching students to read, do math, write sentences and stories, and even how to get along and make friends.

But, I never realized how much I took teaching for granted. I didn't realize how much I would miss my students smiling faces and hearing them laugh, watching them accomplish things they had worked so hard on, and seeing how proud they were of themselves when they achieved their goal.

These are all things I will never take for granted again. I would love to hug each one of them just a little longer and tell them one more time how I love them and how much I believe in them.

By Crystal Staley/Sebastian Kitchen

We have to have the work ethic to complete our task and to come out of this having protected those around us. Finally, faithful commitment. We are fully committed to defeating this virus. We are going to faithfully continue to do what it takes. This is our moment in history, and people's lives depend on us."
