Comment re: Birds of Kentucky: White-Chested Rednecker?

Marie Freeman writes, "It is a Rose-breasted Grosbeak. I don’t have as good of a camera and I couldn’t get any closer without scaring them - you can see four feeding at my feeder’s right there if you were close by. It’s easy to distinguish because they’re black and white, very unusual and beautiful bird."

Gov. outlines plans for gradual reopening of businesses

By Crystal Staley/Sebastian Kitchen

Frankfort, KY - Gov. Andy Beshear on Wednesday laid out the state's plan to gradually reopen business activities while continuing to keep Kentuckians safe from the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).

The Governor unveiled a tentative reopening schedule for a variety of businesses allowed to resume operations. However, he cautioned that in all cases, it will not be business as usual and will require adherence to the 10 rules to reopening, along with industry specific requirements.

"We've got to do this right. I believe we can do this right," Gov. Beshear said. "When we phase back in to work, remember, you don't need an in-person meeting. Use the telephone. And now that we are starting to open up health care, see your doctor if you need to."

This week, Kentucky began the phased reopening of health care services as the first step under Gov. Beshear's Healthy at Work initiative, which set out public health benchmarks for reopening Kentucky's economy. These benchmarks closely follow the White House's Guidelines for Reopening America.

On Wednesday, Gov. Beshear said that as long as Kentucky keeps up the fight against the coronavirus with promising results, the following business sectors are in line to restart:

Letter: Rose-Breasted Grosbeak

Judy Reliford writes:
This is in regards to the photo sent by Kelli Claypool and her asking for the identification of a bird she called a "White Chested Rednecker?" This is a Rose-Breasted Grosbeak. These birds are migrating north through the area, although they may decide to stay the summer. So far, we have two males, who look like the picture, and one female who is "plain" brown and white with orange yellow wing linings. Hope this helps. --Judy

10 steps for Healthy at Work

By Crystal Staley/Sebastian Kitchen

Frankfort, KY - As Kentuckians take the first steps toward restarting our economy, Gov. Andy Beshear on Tuesday shared new guidelines to help businesses reopen safely as we fight the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).

The Governor unveiled a new, 10-point plan that aims to guide businesses as they prepare for a gradual reopening while continuing to keep all workers and patrons safe. He said the guidelines apply to most employers.

This week, Kentucky began the phased reopening of health care services as the first step under Gov. Beshear's Healthy at Work initiative, which set out public health benchmarks for reopening Kentucky's economy. These benchmarks closely follow the White House's Guidelines for Reopening America.

The 10 rules to reopening a business under the Healthy at Work plan are:
