Sympathy to family of ACHS student Anthony Parra Lopez From Dr. Pamela A. Stephens, Superintendent Adair County Schools It is with great sadness that our school district has learned that Anthony Parra Lopez, a Senior at Adair County High School, passed away Friday night. On behalf of our students, staff and school community we extend our deepest sympathies to Anthony's family. We pray God's comfort will cover his family and friends during this difficult time. Our school district has activated our crisis response team. Trained counselors and staff will be on site Monday morning to talk with students, parents and staff as they process their grieving and loss. Over the next several days and weeks we will work together to cope with this loss. Please feel free to contact your child's school if you feel that someone needs to check on or speak with your child. Dreams come true By Sabine Eastham, Director International Student Programs/Lindsey Wilson College. About one month ago, when we picked up our new international students from the airport, I asked everyone if they had a bucket list of things to do and experience while in the U.S. One student in particular, Parisa Rachdanone from Bangkok, Thailand, did not have to think to long... "I want to see snow"... And yesterday, our Kentucky weather finally delivered as we had something of a winter wonderland. You see, Thailand does not have snow. There are some reports of snow in Thailand during its winter in late 1955. Thailand's cold season is generally from November to February with temperatures in the mid 60s F. LWC Swimming competes in second day of MSC Championships
Williamsburg, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's swim team has totaled 410.5 points across the first two days of competition at the Mid-South Conference Swimming Championship to sit in second place. Calvin Coetzee led the charge for LWC as he earned two First-Team All-MSC honors and a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle and the 400-yard medley relay. His mark during the freestyle set a new MSC meet record. During a time trial in the 100-yard fly, Coetzee broke the LWC program record with a time of 48.88 seconds. LWC Wrestling drops dual against No. 6 Cumberlands 24-15 By Christopher Coombs Williamsburg, KY - The No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson wrestling team lost to No. 6 Cumberlands (KY) on the road via a 24-15 result at the UC Volleyball Gym. The Blue Raiders strung together four straight decision victories from 157 to the 184-pound bout but two losses to close out the night ultimately cost Lindsey Wilson. Cumberlands and the Blue Raiders split the ten matches - each picking up five wins - but three pin victories by the Patriots proved to be too much to overcome.
