LWC Women's Basketball downs Berea 72-53 By Christopher Coombs The No. 15-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team defeated Berea (Ky.) 72-53 on Tuesday night at Biggers Sports Center. The Blue Raiders remain a perfect 4-0 on the season with the win. Reagan Turner scored a game-high 21 points as she added seven rebounds and went 7-of-9 from the charity stripe. DeAsia Outlaw was the only other Blue Raider in double figures as she finished with 13 points and a game-high eight rebounds. KY Veteran donates WWII letter to Holocaust Museum By Trey Crumbie, The News-Enterprise A Hardin County veteran has donated an artifact to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Dave Jarrett recently donated a letter written on Adolf Hitler's stationery to the museum. The letter was by his uncle, Sherman Carpenter, who served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Carpenter was a member of the 45th Infantry Division and served in the U.S. Army division that liberated the Dachau concentration camp in 1945. Jarrett said his uncle remained in Munich after V-E Day and was out by himself and wandered into Adolf Hitler's office. LWC Women's Soccer earns 15 MSC Academic honorees By Christopher Coombs Fifteen members of the Lindsey Wilson women's soccer program earned 2019 Academic Mid-South Conference honors, the conference office announced on Tuesday. Kelly Baker, Kat Barnwell, Thea Birgerud, Alix Castillo, Sina Cavelti, Kaitlyn Cook, Paula Espinoza, Eveljn Frigotto, Autumn Hunt, Jovana Ivanovic, Emelie Liljered, Abby Minnicks, Alicia Thoresen and Michelle Wyatt all earned the academic honor. Barnwell, Liljered, Cook, Hunt, Ivanovic and Wyatt all earn their third career honor, while Frigotto and Minnicks both picked up their second. In total, 120 Mid-South Conference women's soccer student-athletes earned Academic All MSC honors. LWC Volleyball defeats Georgetown in three-sets By Brady Budke The No. 10-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team defeated Georgetown (KY) in a three-set Mid-South Conference battle on Monday night at Biggers Sports Center. Senior Elly Burke recorded her ninth double-double of the season, notching 11 kills and 12 digs in her final home outing as a Blue Raider. Freshman Kasia Niderla trailed behind Burke with 10 kills of her own, add to an impressive offensive night for LWC. Freshman Camryn Rich finished with 24 assists while also adding eight digs on the night. On defense, sophomore Lauren Larzelere led the way with 14 digs.
