Controversy continues over use of state airplanes By Sarah Ladd and Joe Sonka, Louisville Courier Journal Amid controversy surrounding his numerous unexplained flights aboard taxpayer-owned planes, Gov. Matt Bevin released on Thursday evening what he calls a "comprehensive list of the purpose of official travel" for his trips from 2016 through the end of August. The list shows trips to everything from auto shows to meetings with President Donald Trump, with the accompanying statement criticizing media coverage and declaring that "there are no 'secret flights,' as insinuated by some." However, the list of flights released by Bevin's office fails to document many trips taken by the governor on aircraft owned by the Kentucky State Police for political campaign events and other reasons not related to his duties as governor that still remain a secret to taxpayers.
