Helen Flatt thinks there may be a really simple solution to the traffic problems in downtown Columbia. "Why don't we just try a little courtesy for a while?" she asks. "That might do more to unsnarl it than all the traffic pattern changes and added policemen could ever do." It is a novel idea: Courtesy. Simply good manners. But it might work. We're short one police car Columbia has recently added two more police cars. At first it was said that the two old cars would be sold for surplus, but now that talk is dying. There is another way of looking at it. With nine people in the police department, and only four cars, that means that if they all are riding at one time, then three of them would have to ride in one car! Traffic Advisory: I65 Northbound to one lane Wednesday By Chris Jessie Pavement repairs will be made along Northbound I65 on the approach to the bridge over Rolling Fork River beginning Wednesday morning, August 21, 2019. Work at the Hardin/Bullitt County Line (Mile Markers 103-104) will require the interstate be reduced to one lane at 7amCT/8amET. Closure configuration will change from the inside and center lanes to the outside and center lanes throughout the day. Short delays will be possible and motorists should be prepared for slowly moving and/or stopped traffic ahead when approaching the area. AG seeks greater scrutiny of LG&E Pipeline Project Frankfort, KY - Following the recent devastating pipeline explosion that took the life of one Kentuckian in Lincoln County, Attorney General Andy Beshear wants greater scrutiny of the planned Louisville Gas and Electric Company (LG&E) Bullitt County Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline Project. Beshear announced today that his Office of Rate Intervention filed a motion to intervene and expand the scope of a complaint case before the state's Public Service Commission (PSC) that Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest brought against LG&E over concerns surrounding its Bullitt County natural gas pipeline. Intervening on behalf of Kentuckians, Beshear says the PSC should expand the matter to ensure the pipeline project meets safety, legal and regulatory compliance requirements, and address the tactics used and costs projected to secure and complete the pipeline. "Given the recent tragedy in Lincoln County, I believe we must apply greater scrutiny to every pipeline project being proposed and constructed in our state," Beshear said. "Kentuckians deserve to know that pipelines running across their property comply with the law and are as safe as possible."
