Vendors and suggestions sought for 2019 Revisit Knifley By Debra Cowan The Revisit Knifley Committee is busy planning for the 2019 Revisit Knifley homecoming and festival. A fish fry and gospel singing will kick-off the event on Friday, September 6, 2019. A full day of activities and events are scheduled for Saturday, September 7, 2019, including live music, vendors, kids zone, car and tractor show and a veterans recognition. The committee is actively seeking vendors and volunteers for the event and welcomes suggestions and input from the community. A recent study found that most people look for produce without any blemishes. What happens to produce with a cosmetic blemish? At the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA), we work to steer that nutritious produce to hungry Kentuckians in need through a program called Farms To Food Banks. Farms to Food Banks is a public-private partnership that helps farmers recoup losses for produce that will not be sold to the public but otherwise is good to eat. The program is supported by the General Assembly and individuals who donate a portion of their state income tax refund.
