CAIP Program for 2018 offers cost share for Adair farmers

Public Notice: Open period to apply is 6-24 Aug 2018. Program offers up to $1,500 per farm operation cost-share program. (Also see other CM Public Notices)

The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board recently approved $151,000 in Agricultural Development Funds for the 2018 Adair County CAIP program (County Agricultural Investment Program) to be administered by the Adair County Cattlemen's Association. This program is a 50% cost-share program with a maximum funding of $1,500 per farm operation. CAIP is designed to provide farmers with incentives to allow them to improve and diversify their current production practices. Applications for the 2018 Adair County CAIP program will be available August 6 - August 24, 2018 at the Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street in Columbia during regular business hours. Jane Rainbow Rodz, 50, Casey County, KY (1968-2018)

March 11, 1968 ~ July 28, 2018 (Age 50)
She was a native of New Haven, CT, and a resident of Liberty, KY, at the time of her death in Danville, KY. She was the daughter of Felix Seahorse and Julia Thomas Rodz of Liberty, KY. She leaves one direct living descendant, her son, Michael Vaugh "Micco" Randall of Liberty, KY.

Terry Lee Edwards, 73, Shelby Co., KY/Adair Co., KY native (1945-2018)

March 15, 1945 ~ July 27, 2018 (Age 73)
He made a profession of faith, was a retired heavy equipment operator, and loved to fish and spend time with family. He was the patriarch of a highly regarded family. He was a native of Columbia, KY, and a resident of Simpsonville, KY, at the time of his death. He leaves six direct living descendants, including two daughters, Holly Edwards Grimsley and Sherri Edwards Chunn, formerly of Columbia and now both of North Carolina.

Adair Co. has $26,250 available for youth ag projects for 2018

Public Notice: Open period to apply is 6-24 Aug 2018 (Also see other CM Public Notices)

The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board recently approved $26,250 in Ag Development Funds for an Adair County Youth Agricultural Incentives Program. The focus of the program is on youth developing agricultural projects, as well as strengthening partnerships with school ag programs, Cooperative Extension, and 4-H/FFA organizations. This is a cost-share program, and youth must be enrolled in elementary, middle or high school, or home school and be at least 9 years of age on January 1, 2018. Applications for the Youth Ag Incentives program will be available August 6 – August 24, 2018 at the Adair County Extension Office located at 409 Fairground Street in Columbia during regular business hours.
