Free fishing events in Russell, Taylor Jun 2-3 By Kevin Kelley Frankfort, KY - The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources will celebrate Free Fishing Weekend June 2-3, with events in Russell, Taylor, and Wayne Counties, among others. Free Fishing Weekend, an annual event since 1992, offers residents and non-residents the opportunity to fish Kentucky waters without a license or permit. Limits on the size and number of fish that anglers may keep still apply. Additionally, anglers may keep trout without possessing a trout permit during free fishing weekend. With special events across the state planned for Saturday, June 2, most families can find fishing opportunities just a short drive away. A number of events are geared toward kids under age 16. Several include a free hot dog lunch, bait and loaner fishing equipment for anglers. The tour was called by one teacher, "the best thing we ever did for school spirit." Seniors first walked the ACHS halls, lined with juniors, sophomores and freshmen then through each school in turn, ACPC, ACES and ACMS, revisiting the grades and teachers they'd worked with through their 12-year careers. The cheers and shouts and high fives and good wishes in those hallways made the seniors feel like rock stars and filled hearts with happiness. Greensburg, KY, Paddle Trail rated 'great' by Adair enthusiast On a beautiful day, three Columbia Kayaking enthusiasts, Robyn Curry, Jane Smith and the writer, Mitzi Bault, put in on Green River at Ralph Vaughn Road, a beautiful point in the rich river bottom land below the Greensburg Industrial Park cliffs. RVR is in off Blowing Springs Road or Legion Park Road. Their take out point was just blocks from Historic Downtown Greensburg. It was all an impressive impressive experience. At approximately 11:42amET, KSP Post 04 received notification that a man was refusing to leave his room after the appointed check out time. Upon Troopers encountering the man inside the motel room they also located marijuana. Further investigation revealed that the man was in possession of a stolen vehicle that had been reported stolen by the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
