A person's a person, no matter how small

2017-04-08 - Taylor County, KY - Photo by Calen McKinney, Public Information Officer, Campbellsville Independent Schools (CIS).
Campbellsville Elementary School kindergarten students had lots of fun recently during a week of events geared toward Dr. Seuss. In one activity, students made their very own Horton figures from "Horton Hears a Who!" Students cut out a hand to make Horton's face, and then added an ear. As finishing touches, they added a flower in his mouth and the saying "A person's a person, no matter how small." CES kindergarteners, from left, are -- Kasen Smith, Aubrey Wilson, Timothy Stacy and Natalee Shaw holding their finished Horton characters.

Campbellsville Elementary School students recently saw - and held - some wild animals. Zoodles animal education program visited CES on Thursday, March 30, to let students see the animals and take photos with them.

Steven Thomas of Zoodles brought with him a baby kangaroo named Wendy, a python snake named Barbara, a parrot named Solomon, a blue tongue skink and a bearded dragon. While some of the students got to hold some of the animals, CES Principal Ricky Hunt got the opportunity to kiss Barbara the snake.
